The FC1000GP60 machine is protected by easily accessible high speed semiconductor fuses and all low voltage control systems are protected by a 20 mm fuse.
The controls are a STOP button to isolate both poles of the incoming generator supply. A START button is provided to prepare the machine for fishing after the anode and cathode have been deployed under the water. A switch is fitted to enable the accompanying transformer to be used when the high output voltage range is required. With the transformer connected the output will be 0 to 600 volts DC and without the transformer connected the output will be 0 to 200 volts DC This is explained further in the instructions. The switch is marked Transformer in and Transformer out. When the switch is placed in the Transformer in position the transformer must be plugged securely into the socket on the control box and then the output voltage range will be 0 to 600 volts DC. When the switch is put in the transformer out position there is no need to connect the transformer. A voltmeter scaled 0 to 600 volts reading the output DC voltage from the unit and an ammeter scaled 0 to 4 amps AC reading the generator input current are fitted. If the transformer is not used, the voltmeter will only read up to 200 volts DC. A power control potentiometer is fitted to vary the output and the output can be set anywhere between 10% and 100% of the output voltage range selected using the power control knob. When selecting a new output range it is best to return the output control to the zero position. "POWER ON" and "FISHING ON" LED indicator lamps are fitted to indicate the controller state.
The transformer is mounted in a waterproof plastic case with a single lead and waterproof 3 pin plug to fit the socket on the control box. The transformer is fitted with a handle for ease of carrying.
A Honda Eu10i generator is supplied rated at 1000 Watts. The generator is modified in accordance with safety and international regulations for electric fishing operations.
There are 4 sockets mounted on the box viz: A blue waterproof 3 pin, a white waterproof 3 pin socket and a yellow waterproof 3 pin socket. The blue and white sockets are for connection to the anode and the yellow socket is for the cathode. The black 3 pin socket is for connection to the transformer.
The anode can be specified in terms of the length of pole, the length of cable, the position of the safety switch on the pole and the size of stainless steel conductor ring to be fitted at the end of the pole. A stainless steel bolt and spanner are provided for fitting the ring.
The cathode can be specified in terms of the length of cable and the length and number of conductors to be deployed in the water.
A 3 year warranty is given with each machine and this is valid except in cases of misuse or accidental damage. The warranty is a 'return to base' warranty. This means that the customer must return the suspect unit back to our works whereupon the item will be assessed, the repair will be carried out quickly and the unit returned to the customer at our expense. This is subject to the warranty being approved for free repair under our terms and conditions. Repairs will always take precedence over production and we are very pleased to operate this policy, since it supports our constant attention and devotion to improving the design, reliability and serviceability of our products, as well as assuring all customers of our unwavering attention to service and detail.
INSTRUCTIONS AND SPARES:
A full set of instructions is provided with every machine giving details of training contacts for those users new to electric fishing. Also a full set of spare fuses is provided.
Long cable anodes may be supplied at any length up to 100 metres, although in practice 50 metres is the longest used by most operators. Continental plugs and sockets can be fitted as required for the generator/control box connections.
